Things buyers ask before they hit add to cart.

In most cases, yes. The Cloudlayer is designed to add a fresh layer of pressure-relieving support on top of a mattress that's lost some of its bounce. If your mattress has a deep sag (more than 1½″), a topper alone won't fully solve that — but for tired, firm, or slightly worn mattresses, it's the simplest fix we know of.

That's the most common reason people buy it. The TriZone™ shoulder zone is built with softer foam (28 ILD) to let your shoulder sink in slightly, instead of pressing against firm mattress underneath. Most side sleepers tell us the first improvement they notice is in the shoulder, around night 5–10.

Yes. The Cloudlayer is rated up to 350 lbs per sleeper and uses high-density foam throughout (3.5 lb/cu ft). The firmer lumbar zone of the TriZone™ build is specifically there to prevent the "hammock effect" larger sleepers complain about with cheaper toppers.

Not for most people. Independent testing shows it runs about 4°F cooler than standard memory foam. The cover is woven bamboo viscose, which is naturally moisture-wicking, and the foam is open-cell — meaning air moves through it instead of trapping heat.

No. There are four elastic straps that wrap around the corners of your mattress (fits 8″ to 16″ deep). Once it's on, it stays through 8+ hours of movement. We've had customers send photos of it surviving a full bedsheet change without shifting.

Yes — the bamboo cover unzips fully and is machine-washable on cold, gentle cycle. Tumble dry low. Most owners wash it once every 2–3 months. The foam core doesn't need washing.

There's a faint "new foam" smell for the first 24 hours — that's normal off-gassing from compressed foam. It airs out completely within a day. The foam is CertiPUR-US certified, with no formaldehyde or flame retardants.

The elastic straps fit mattresses from 8″ up to 16″ deep, which covers about 98% of US mattresses including most pillow-tops. If you're over 16″, message our team — we'll often send a longer strap set free.

In most cases yes — the TriZone™ layout helps both back and side sleepers because it cradles the same pressure points. If one of you is significantly heavier (60+ lbs difference) and you both feel the divide, customers tell us they barely notice the difference within 2 weeks.
